At Penketh we are passionate about developing pupils’ interest and enthusiasm for History outside the classroom. We offer all our pupils’ a range of inspiring educational visits. In the past these have included: a ‘hands on’ visit to the Royal Armouries, Leeds where pupils have been able to handle and try on the arms and armour of the civil war, and a visit from a Holocaust survivor. A Level students have attended History conferences at several universities and took part in an archaeological dig on the Wirral. We also offer residential visits to our GCSE pupils. These include ‘Kip on a Ship’, a three day stay in London, staying on board the Second World War ship HMS Belfast with visits to the London Dungeons, the Tower of London, St. Pauls Cathedral and Buckingham Palace amongst others.
