Music Key Stage 3

Key Stage 3 provides pupils with varied and enjoyable schemes of work. Music lessons are taught on a weekly basis and aim to be practically-based, giving pupils a real hands-on learning experience. Pupils access our excellent facilities including keyboard suites and an apple Mac suite.
Year 7
Year 7 follow the Opening Minds curriculum which enables them to acquire the practical skills that are so important to music. Pupils study the following topics:

Year 8
Year 8 focuses on pupils developing their keyboard skills and also looking at music from around the world. Pupils study the following topics:

Theme and Variations
Indian Music
Keyboard Unit 1
Keyboard Unit 2
Year 9
Year 9 study a wide range of interesting topics, some of which lead onto further study at GCSE. Pupils study the following topics:

Hooks and Riffs
Rap
Fusion
The History of Pop
Reggae
Music for Dance
