The department delivers several enterprise days each year to include all key stages. These days are designed to give students at all key stages an insight into the concept of enterprise, an introduction to the skills needed to be an entrepreneur, financial capability and practice the skills related to being enterprising. Associations with various businesses develop students’ understanding of Business and Enterprise.
Various challenges are entered each year by our pupils and students studying Business:
- • Target 2.0 challenge is run by the Bank of England and undertaken by sixth form students
- • Make Your Mark Challenge involves KS4 students
- • Student Investor Challenge from ifs involves any Business and ICT students wishing to take part in a shares trading simulation.
- • Doodle4Google is open to all students under 16 in conjunction with the Art Department
Financial Capability is encouraged by the Credit Union which was set up and administered by the department. Staff and students are members and have the opportunity to take part on a weekly basis in this savings initiative. More information can be found on the credit union link on the home page.
Internet safety advice is presented to all students through whole school assemblies and initial lessons at the beginning of every academic year.
