BTEC pupils stay true to their traditions

A YEAR 10 class are remaining faithful to their hardworking ways as they continue to learn new skills both inside and outside of the school.

The BTEC Public Service pupils have been on a variety of trips to increase their understanding of the sector and have been showing no signs of contentment.

So far this academic year the group has attended a course in first aid, visited a firing range witnessed presentations from organizations such as the NHS, prison service and the military.

Their teacher, Mr C Seggie, said: “The aim of the course is to give the students transferrable skills such as communication and I like to give them as many opportunities as possible use these skills in the real-world.”

The pupils are to spend a day in June with sailors from the Royal Navy to develop their maritime knowledge.

The class has taken part in fund raising activities around the school.
