TWO North West colleges have heaped praise on Penketh High School’s Year 11 pupils.
Admissions staff from Riverside College and Cronton Sixth Form interviewed pupils who had applied to study for their post-16 education at the Widnes establishments on 10 February and were impressed with the quality of the candidates.
School Liaison and Marketing Officer for Riverside college Laura Hough said: “They were really, really good. They were well prepared, they know what they want to do for jobs and have very high predicted grades.”
Throughout their application process the pupils have shown maturity, independence and commitment to their careers as they have been working with the colleges to build their further education course options around the industry they want to go into.
Ms Hough added the level of research done by the pupils had not gone unnoticed, and as a result have “a better chance than most” of being accepted by the colleges.
