Jordan Barlow (aged 15) recently represented Penketh High School, Warrington Warriors Swimming Club and the North of England squad in the 2010 UK School Games held in the North East.
Jordan emerged from the competition with 3 medals to his name, including Individual Gold for the 200 metres Freestyle and two Bronze medals for the relay events. He also finished 4th in the Individual 400 metres Freestyle. These achievements were even more special because he is still eligible to compete next year.
Mr Hughes (Headteacher) said, “Jordan is a credit to his family and school. We are all very proud of his achievements, not least because training involves almost daily sessions at very early hours in the morning. Such dedication is an inspiration to other youngsters who wish to achieve.”
For anyone interested in watching the Games, they are to be screened on Channel 4 on 18th September between 7.00 pm and 8.00pm.
