‘The Dark Side of Magic’

During the Easter holidays our media team, led by Mr J Kay and Miss L Dutton and Mr R Abbott , set off once again across the Channel/La Manche,  on 27
th March, set fair for France! Their mission was to film on location, a feature film, following the successful “Louie” which was premiered last year.

“The Dark Side of Magic” introduces a darker element and is filmed in England, and France set against the backdrop of Mont St Michel and the Eiffel Tower in Paris!

Filming began immediately with two scenes shot on the ferry. Miss A Turner and Mr I Farrar also accompanied the 20 students, to their base in Brittany, arriving on 28th March at Moulin de la Touche in Plougenast, where some of the actors and technicians had previously stayed in 2008, an ideal setting for typical French locales!

On 1st April they all moved to Paris for the filming, returning to their base in Brittany on 4th April and from there they travelled to Mont Saint Michel on 7th and 8th April for two consecutive days’ filming.

The party caught the overnight ferry on the 10th April. The final shooting for this part of the film took place on the ferry at sunrise!

All returned on 11th April in good time for the start of the Summer term!
